Educators from abroad to visit Iron County schools
Iron County will host a multinational group of educators from Mexico, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Brazil, Italy and Costa Rica. The visitors, under the Smith Mundt Bill, speak at a public meeting in Parowan on Wednesday 2 to 4:30 pm. They will learn about elementary education and grassroots democracy, sponsored by the University of Utah, October 12 to 11.

Gordon L Halterman of Parowan Utah has been transferred to Pearl Harbor Hawaii where he serves as manager of the Pearl Harbor Block Arena enlisted men's club at the naval base. He spent the prior year in the Marshall Islands managing a Navy club and will remain at the Hawaiian base for another year. He hopes to meet friends in the Islands.

Little Salt Lake Area Closed For Waterfowl Hunt
The Little Salt Lake area in Iron County will be closed for the 1954 waterfowl season starting Saturday Oct 10. The proclamation prohibits hunting or shooting waterfowl within a marked zone around the lake extending a quarter mile north and south and fenced by the Parowan Land Highway to the southeast and the Kane Springs Highway to the east.

About 45 Parowan High School musicians joined 1500 Utah ensembles for University of Utah band night.
