Iron County lags behind state and national Bond drives with only about 7 percent of the city quota sold by Parowan yesterday. A bond rally at Parowan High School next Monday will feature Army officers and WACs to boost bond sales and explain needs for the drive.

They plan to enroll Rulon in the University of Utah as an engineering student after spending time in Cedar City and St George. Auxiliary To Prepare Gifts For Hospital Patients
The Legion Auxiliary calls on citizens to assemble gift boxes for hospital patients. Each box should be worth 2 to 5 dollars, wrapped and labeled with donor name and contents, and delivered to Mrs Guyman by December 8. Boxes may be for men or women and may include books, stationery, toiletries, clothes, and other small items.

Former Resident James Green Dies in Cedar City
Reports say James Green, former Parowan resident who had lived in Cedar City for nearly twenty years, died suddenly. Details are unavailable as families are out of town and next week will provide more information. Keith Russell returned from a Sea Scout regatta in Long Beach, joined by other local youths. Farther, Way Lyman and Evan Bayles helped with bus suraa watters during the week.

Final Rites Held For Aged Paragonah Lady
Funeral services for Aunt Jane Topham were held in Paragonah with Bishop J Leonard Topham presiding. Born March 10 1860 she helped her father and brother on cattle and bullets in youth. Survived by 17 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and siblings William Barton Olive Edwards Nora Forgie Sarah Rose Stella Edwards.

Manila Saunders M Clark husband of Kathleen Clark Parowan Utah promoted to Sergeant. Assigned to the Athletic and Recreation Section of a replacement depot in Manila. Clark has been overseas 14 months serving at New Guinea installations before arriving in the Philippines four months ago. Mrs Celia Page in poor health was taken to Ogden to stay with her son in law and daughter Warren and Celia Wimmer for the winter. She traveled as far as Levan with son James A Benson then joined the Wimmers from Ogden.

Special Deer Hunt Starts Saturday Morning
The special deer hunt begins Saturday morning and runs until December 10. Two hundred permits were issued after selling out within a day, two remaining. Ground posted to protect the deer herd and to deter trespassing, affecting many privately owned areas where out of town permit holders hold most rights.

Stevens Family Celebrate Parents Golden Wedding
Mr and Mrs Joseph Stevens of this city celebrated their Golden Wedding on Sunday and Monday November 25 and 26 with Open House for two hundred friends and relatives and a family dinner followed by a public dance. Every immediate family member attended except Edmund Stevens who sought medical treatment in Salt Lake City. AAA Elections Set For Next Thursday and Friday
