Alvin Richard Benson born September 13, 1878 in Parowan died before noon at Cedar City Hospital following a major operation performed Wednesday. Survived by his father Richard Benson, siblings, wife Lena Mickelson, three children Hildreth, Fant, Blaine, and one grandchild. funeral arrangements pending.

Hyatt Marries Klamath Falls Girl in Thanksgiving Time
Floyd Hyatt formerly of this city son of Hoy Nyatt was to be married on Thanksgiving Day Miss Pat O Dell of Klamath Falls Oregon. Floyd has spent much of the last few years in Oregon. Both Miss O Dell and Mr Hyatt are popular members of Klamath Falls younger set. She is a member of the Senior class of the Klamath Union High School. He is enjoyed by the Klamath Creamery. Floyd is well known here and his many friends will be happy to learn his marriage.

Parowan marked Thinkegiving with no public celebration quiet evening at the Recreation Hall. The crowd filled the hall and moved about. Family dinners were common and the event passed without incident. Earlier Milford defeated Parowan by a basketball score to kick off the holiday.

Mr John T Mitchell attended the funeral of his sister Bre Lizets ePhergon in Fillmore last Sunday. He remained for the service on Wednesday and then returned with Norton from Salt Lake City. The death note mentions Mrs Mesheroon leaving Mr Mitchell with a brother and sister Emma Diy in Fillmore. Beatrice Tarris, once with him in the Hat, went home to Lake City earlier in the week.

20000 Fish Planted by Yankee Week in Beaver Hatchery
20000 fish from Beaver Hatchery were planted in Yankee Meadow reservoir this week by the focal Gun and Red Chile. They ranged from two to almost five inches, with 4000 cattler added. The stock should reach regal size by next summer. Three trips delivered 32000 total this year, including 1060 regal sized ones this summer. The reservoir should be a prime fishing spot next season.

The agricultural and home economics training project run by the ranch Agricultural College at Cedar City with the National Youth Administration is a major program for 30 youths aged 11 to 25. Only 20 boys and 10 girls may enroll, with enrollment closing December 6, 1937, and applications due by November 27, 1937. Participants will receive three hours daily instruction in agriculture or home economics, plus 65 hours monthly on a building project and meals procurement and service. Wages total 27.50 per month, with 5.00 kept for personal needs and 22.50 allocated to college costs. Applicants must provide clothing and transportation. Applications are via the County Department of Public Welfare.

School census shows slight reduction in Bon County
At the Board of Education meeting the Bon County School District reported the current school census at 2179 children ages 6 to 28, a decline of 26 from last year’s 2205. The state census shows a statewide decrease. Of 2173 children, 59 are out of school without permits. 10 out with legitimate reasons. Counts show 1108 boys and 1071 girls. The board discussed routine matters and maintenance projects, while staff attended regional meetings.

Lewis to Direct East Ward Choir Revival

Parowan's electric rates are among the lowest in Utah with several towns posting cheaper minimum charges. At 26 KWH, Logan and Murray charge $1.13, Ephraim $1.26, Brigham City $1.35, Parowan $1.46. at 40 KWH, Logan and Murray lead with $1.86. at 100 KWH, Logan $2.48, Parowan $2.80, others higher.
