Rep. Henry A. Dixon plans a three county tour in southern Utah with meetings at Dixie College in St George and Beaver High School in Beaver. He will hold public clinics at county courthouses, join senators Bennett and Watkins in Cedar City for talks with park officials and county leaders about Cedar Breaks Rim Road and a Zion Kolob Canyon road project, and finish with a hotel clinic.

Safe Driving Day Emphasizes Traffic Safety
December 10 marks the second annual Safe Driving Day sponsored by the Presidents Committee for Traffic Safety. Communities will aim for zero traffic accidents during a 24 hour period with 30 days of public education beforehand. Fatalities will be tallied from November 21 to SD Day plus 10, and results released by the committee. The effort has broad support from national and state organizations.

County Schools Close For Veterans Day Observance
Lion County schools will close November 11 to commemorate Veterans Day, announced by Parowan High principal Max S. Dalley after a district principals meeting. Unlike others, Tron County schools won’t need a makeup day. the district added an extra instructional day this year for emergencies.

Services Held For Paragonah Infant
Graveside services were held at Paragonah Cemetery for Bonnie Rae Manzione infant daughter of Janine and Gordon Manzione. She was born prematurely at Iron County Hospital and died before midnight. Bishop Victor R. Robinson led the service with Thomas A. Robinson, a ladies chorus sang Let the Little Children Come, and dedicatory prayers by Joseph Manzione. The infant is survived by her parents, grandparents J. Revere Robinson and H. B. Robinson, and great grandmother Alice G. White of Beaver. Relatives from Cedar and Parowan attended.
