Mrs Bertha Morris Injured In Highway Swash Up

Mrs Bertha Morris of Par Ian was hurt when a car ahead blew tires and veered, injuring four people including Morris and Edna Freson. The crash occurred about 5 miles north of Coday on Highway 230. Morris suffered broken ribs. Edna Freson and a child were among the others injured. The other car carried Win Japa Amn and two women.

Armistice Day Program for Parowika Observed by Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary invites the public to a morning Armistice Day program in East Ward Micapel featuring colors, pledge, silence, and songs led by the high school band. Chaplain H. E. Hasles gives an invocation, D. A. Stones directs a legal speech, and P. H. S. students perform an oratorical finals. Roses of Picardy, piano selections, and a ladies trio perform. Local Peace Officers Travel To Mexico

Deputy County Sheriff Arch Benson and Howard M. Adams of Parowan led a group of peace officers last week to return thirty Mexican illegals to immigration authorities at Calexico on the Mexican border. The individuals, detained from farms in the county's west end, were charged with illegal entry and transported home by air, a quicker alternative to the prior bus trip.

Carliile Marsden Wins Acclaim For Composition

Carliile Marsden of Parowan son of Mr and Mrs William Marsden earned a signal honor as MLA 1950 51 theme composer through a Utah University music class under Professor Robertson. His June 1951 score based on Alma 37 85 Learn Wisdom in thy youth to keep the commandments of God won unanimous MLA General Board approval and will guide about 1500 voices at the Salt Lake City tabernacle during the MLA conference.

War Mothers Honored At Program Reception

Gold Star mothers and mothers of World War I veterans from Parowan Paragonah and Satina t were honored at a Thursday program under American Legion Auxiliary Post No 20. The event in the Weet Ward featured fall flowers corsages for attendees and special corsages for Gold Star Mothers with a musical program and informal reception. Deer Reverses Situation for Local Hunters

In Parowan a four point buck was found in Mrs. Phoebe Taylor's yard during morning hunting. Neighbors Charles Bentley Hyatt acted quickly, tracking the animal to Mario Topham property and shooting it near the Old Holler. The deer weighed about 75 pounds yielding a sizable meat haul.

Adult Education Classes Now In Progress

The PTA meeting at the school building approved two new adult crafts courses with a five dollar fee each due to lack of state funding. Existing sewing classes continue, and future offerings may include electrical motors and refrigeration, physical education, typing, and office aids depending on enrollment. registration will occur after the meeting.

West Ward 4-H Achievement Program Next Wednesday

West Ward will host a 4-H Achievement Program next Wednesday evening at Tid0 ha Lorena Hon hall. Clubs in the area will attend and awards sponsored by the State Banking Association will be presented.
