Mrs Wright of Murray mother of eighteen children outlines goals of The Child in Some Freedom at a PTA meeting. Local Parent-Teacher Association plans a talk on adolescent guidance and progressive child welfare efforts with Mrs Wright addressing attendees and a later Cedar City PTA session.
Mrs Silas T Orton returns home Sunday after visiting relatives in Nevada California and Colorado The trip included time in Las Vegas Fort Bliss Boulder City San Luis Obispo Los Angeles and Las Vegas They welcomed a new granddaughter on Oct 21 with Frincis and Ronnie Orton among the family members.
Mrs Bertha Morris of Par Ian was hurt when a car ahead blew tires and veered, injuring four people including Morris and Edna Freson. The crash occurred about 5 miles north of Coday on Highway 230. Morris suffered broken ribs. Edna Freson and a child were among the others injured. The other car carried Win Japa Amn and two women.
Mr and Mrs Ray Mitchell announce the marriage of their daughter Ramona to Joseph M Stubbs son of Mr and Mrs Alma Stubbs of Parowan on Saturday November 4 at 1 pm The ceremony will be officiated by Parowan Stake President W Clair Rowley at the brides parents home in Picrowan After the ceremony the couple and their families will be greeted by wedding party members Continued on Page Five.

The American Legion Auxiliary invites the public to a morning Armistice Day program in East Ward Micapel featuring colors, pledge, silence, and songs led by the high school band. Chaplain H. E. Hasles gives an invocation, D. A. Stones directs a legal speech, and P. H. S. students perform an oratorical finals. Roses of Picardy, piano selections, and a ladies trio perform. An afternoon sports program at City Race Track and an evening at the school gym follow.
Deputy County Sheriff Arch Benson and Howard M. Adams of Parowan led a group of peace officers last week to return thirty Mexican illegals to immigration authorities at Calexico on the Mexican border. The individuals, detained from farms in the county's west end, were charged with illegal entry and transported home by air, a quicker alternative to the prior bus trip.
The William J. Lowder family of Parowan gathered this past week for the first time in over twenty years. Sons Grant Fillmore Elmo Long Beach Art Parowan joined their father to hunt venison in nearby mountains while five daughters Laurel Specht Long Beach Luice Boles Casper Maxine Robison Fillmore Roca Mitchell Varian Halterman Parowan reunited with their mother for a large family visit and feast.

The production runs two nights in the ward budget schedule with Mrs Jean Hendrickson directing and a history teacher aiding the cast.
Carliile Marsden of Parowan son of Mr and Mrs William Marsden earned a signal honor as MLA 1950 51 theme composer through a Utah University music class under Professor Robertson. His June 1951 score based on Alma 37 85 Learn Wisdom in thy youth to keep the commandments of God won unanimous MLA General Board approval and will guide about 1500 voices at the Salt Lake City tabernacle during the MLA conference.
Miss Hilma Orton daughter of Almon H. Orton and Miss Reta Ann Smith of Cedar City represented the Branch Agricultural College at the National Home Economics Conference in Providence 4 held in Pocatello Idaho last week. They served as club officers and joined representatives from Brigham Young University University of Utah and Utah State Agricultural College at the workshop on the Southern Idaho campus.
Miss Renee Carlson of Redondo Beach California wed Thomas Harvey Rowley son of Harold and Mrs Rowley of Parowan in a St George Temple ceremony performed by President Harold S Snow. The couple departed for Salt Lake City with Carlsons mother present and plan to live in Redondo Beach where they are employed.
The ONO Club hosted its annual Hallowe en social for members and partners Monday night in the Old Rock Church basement. Attendees wore costumes and played games followed by a hot chili supper. Special guests were Mr and Mrs Woodrow Talbot of Salt Lake City. Committee leaders were Hazel Dawn Evans Veda Adams Virginia Lowe and Carma Evans.
Miss Anna T Adams gave an apt lesson on Korea at the Literary club's semi monthly gathering hosted by Mrs E J King. President Bertrude Mitchell led 17 members present with special guest Mrs Betty Sorenson. Next meeting set for November 15 at Mrs Georgia B Mitchell's home with Jean Hendrickson reviewing Pearl Buck's Pavilion of Women.

Little Ronnie Decker four year old son of Mr and Mrs Frank Decker of Parowan is in critical condition at Ireu County Hospital after a car pedestrian crash Sunday near the high school. He suffered a brain concussion severe scalp wounds and internal shock. Unofficial reports name Dean Huntsman of Fillmore as the driver who did not see the child as he ran from the sidewalk to cross the highway to join his sisters.

Gold Star mothers and mothers of World War I veterans from Parowan Paragonah and Satina t were honored at a Thursday program under American Legion Auxiliary Post No 20. The event in the Weet Ward featured fall flowers corsages for attendees and special corsages for Gold Star Mothers with a musical program and informal reception. Social duties were led by Mrs Mary BH Orton Mrs Zilpha Dalton Mrs Cherie Day and Mrs Pearl Russell.
Mrs Edna S Hateh announces the monthly Union meeting for Sunday at 2 30 PM in the West Ward Relief Society room. Stake and Ward officers and leaders are urged to attend with a pantomime kit led by Mrs Betty Sorenson, plus a lecture on Color in the Home by Mrs Luetta Mortensen at the Work-day Department.
Baptisimal services for Parowan Stake will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Baptisimal room of the East Ward. Bishop Karl Mitchell announces the time and place and urges all interested persons and children eligible for baptism to attend.
The Cedar City Chamber of Commerce with the Branch Agricultural College will host a Community Industry Conference at the BAC auditorium next Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. The event themed The Relationships of Industry to the Community will feature moderator Dr Walter Mathesius of Geneva Steel and Columbian Iron Mining Co. Speakers include Ambrose J Seith Union Pacific executive vice president from Omaha Nebraska Chester J Olson Regional Forester U S Forest Service Ogden Utah and Prest on Robinson Deseret News assistant general manager. There is no registration fee or expense to attend.
The Sons of Utah Pioneers set the first Sunday of each month for their meetings. The November gathering is planned for next Sunday evening in the Seminary building with a program arranged by committee chair A C Hateb. Members and prospective members are welcome.
In Parowan a four point buck was found in Mrs. Phoebe Taylor's yard during morning hunting. Neighbors Charles Bentley Hyatt acted quickly, tracking the animal to Mario Topham property and shooting it near the Old Holler. The deer weighed about 75 pounds yielding a sizable meat haul.
The PTA meeting at the school building approved two new adult crafts courses with a five dollar fee each due to lack of state funding. Existing sewing classes continue, and future offerings may include electrical motors and refrigeration, physical education, typing, and office aids depending on enrollment. registration will occur after the meeting.
West Ward will host a 4-H Achievement Program next Wednesday evening at Tid0 ha Lorena Hon hall. Clubs in the area will attend and awards sponsored by the State Banking Association will be presented. Mr. Rotert II of the Bank of Ron County is among the award presenters. Mrs Leone Rasmussen chairs the supervisory committee, noting an engaging program by 4-H clubs in addition to the awards.
