Parker returns from two year absence after China-Burma-India service
Robert M Parker arrived home yesterday after two years away and nearly a year and a half on the CBI front. He enlisted in June 1944 and went overseas just before Christmas that year, serving in Kunming China until the war ended, then in Calcutta for five months as an MP. Almon H Orton reports a land deal selling the Ben Smith place half farm and his Coop Valley share to Hugh L Adams and his son Le Roy. H L Adams owns most of the old Day and Adams Coop Valley project aside from a minor Howard Randall Adams stake. He recently went to Provo to take a master’s exam at BYU School of Fine Arts. Newell B Weight plans to attend graduation June 5 with Mrs Weight and family.

Legion Auxiliary Elects Officers After Poppy Day Sale
The Legion Auxiliary voted in officers for the coming year at a meeting hosted by Minnie W. Lowder after a successful poppy sale. New officers include Zilpha Dalton president and Olive Mitchell first vice president, with Avada Bettridge secretary. Installation is planned for September ahead of the June district convention in Hurricane. Sixty percent of poppy funds stay local for child welfare with forty percent sent to state and national HQs.
