Private MacDell Matheson of this city married Miss Doro thy Leigh daughter of Mrs Golda Leigh of Cedar City in Cedar City home on Friday evening May 19. Bishop H H Lunt presided. Best man was Henry Bulloch Maid of Honor Ilia Lamoteaux. Matheson home on furlough from Army after Fort Sill training will report to Camp Carson. Bride a Cedar City High School graduate 1943 worked for the Telephone Co. in Cedar City and plans to join husband if opportunity arises.

Cedar Man Dies After Fight at Salt Lake Inn

Van Aaron Heaps a 24 year old Cedar City resident and Spry native died in Salt Lake City after a fist fight at the Banner Inn. An autopsy linked his death to an intracranial hemorrhage from lacerations near the left eye and ear. Roy Manning 46 of Salt Lake City faces involuntary manslaughter charges based on the altercation. Heaps moved to Cedar City two years ago after education in Spry and Panguitch and survived by four brothers Max Garth Elmo Dan and sister Charlotte.

Crawford Family Loses Infant Child at Iron County Hospital

The two day old infant Kenneth Mac, born to Mr and Mrs Lloyd Crawford, died at Iron County Hospital after a premature birth. Father took the body to Springdale Utah for burial with graveside services by Bishop A C Hardy. The mother suffered kidney trouble and is recovering at home.

Both Ward Boy Scouts Make Trip to Zion Canyon

About twenty members from the Parowan Fast and West wards joined a weekend trip to Zion Canyon. Baptismal Services Announced for Parowan Wards

Baptismal services for the two Parowan wards will be held in the East ward chapel at 4 p.m. next Saturday June 3. East ward bishopric announces the event and asks all parents with children to be baptized to bring them promptly at 4.

Impressive Rites Held For Wm. A. Evans

Funeral services for William A. Evans were held Saturday in Parowan with West ward bishopric Howard Joseph in charge. The service featured combined choirs, solo numbers by Mrs. M. A. Burton and June Decker, and remarks by William P. Barton, T. A. Topham, and H. L. Adams. EVans’s burial took place at Parowan City Cemetery.

Summer Music Classes Begin Monday at High School

Enrollment for summer music classes will occur Monday morning May 29 in the High School music room. All instrumental students should enroll between 8 a.m. and 12 noon, with emphasis on younger players for advancement.
