Legion Auxiliary Names Officers for Coming Year
At a Monday meeting of Parowan Post 20 American Legion Auxiliary new officers were elected for the coming year. Bess Miller 43 will be president, Zilpha Dalton first vice president, Minnie Lowder second vice president, Avanda Bottridge secretary and treasurer, Erona Cartwright historian, Sarah Lowder sergeant at arms, and Dean Oyton chaplain. Officers take over in the fall but were chosen before the district convention in Cedar City this Saturday night, covering units from Millard, Beaver, Iron, Washington and Kane counties.

Mission Head's Wife Dies in Independence Missouri
Lydia Naegle Romney, 63, wife of Dr. Thomas C. Romney and mother of Major Myles Romney, died in Independence Missouri last Friday evening from pneumonia. Born April 3, 1879, in Toquerville Utah, she lived in Mexico colonies as a child, married in Salt Lake temple, and later resided in Provo before relocating amid historical upheavals. She was a noted L D S church member and former president of the central states Relief Society.

Cedar City High School principal Janthus Wright has been appointed superintendent of Iron County School District following Howard W. Driggs’s new post. Wright, native of Hinchley, previously led Delta High School and Cedar City High, trained at USAC Logan, and will replace pending board action on June 4 as Perry Carmichael agreed to take Parowan High principalship.

Graveside service held for Reeves infant
Graveside services were held at Parowan City cemetery for the infant son of Mr and Mrs Reeves. Born at 1 am Friday at the county hospital the child died about nine hours later. The Reeves and Guyman families, Fort Sam Houston notes, and local clergy attended. Survived by parents, grandparents Ross Guyman and Otto Reeves, great grandparents and extended relatives.
