Chamber Shifts Race Meet to May 30 and June 1
The Chamber of Commerce, responding to miners and horse owners, rescheduled the next week’s race meet to May 30 and June 1. The change restores the original June 1 date after weather and fishing season concerns. Local and outside horses, including teams from Delta, Minersville, St George, Ivans, Beaver, Enterprise, and California tracks, are slated to compete, with a gas range drawing on the final day and a year’s free gas tank rent for the winner.

Parowan and Paragonah residents donated 57 pints of blood during the bloodmobile visit, short of the 60 pint quota set by A B Matheson due to a delayed doctor arrival. Home Nursing Course To Be Held Here
Mrs A C Red Cross representative announces a new home nursing course to be held here after June 10. Mary Ann Kiedroski of the San Francisco office will visit to conduct refresher sessions on care of the sick and injured and mother and baby care. Nurses taking part include Mrs Alice Barton R N and Aleen Orton with Sarah Dean Smith and Mary O Topham. A recent high school course also certified many girls with Mrs Smith and Mrs Orton as instructors.
