Mortensen Dies After Heart Attack In Parowan

Longtime Parowan resident Edward Mortensen died at home Sunday after a heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the ward chapel with Bishop W. In charge. He was born in Parowan in 1871, survived by eight children, two brothers, and many grandchildren.

Broken leg from out of control horse accident

Howard Adams is hospitalized in Iron County with a badly broken leg after leaping from a horse at the family home. Both leg bones were fractured high above the ankle, with bones protruding through flesh but the doctor reports the condition improving and infection unlikely.

Trial Set For June 14 In Marne Oakes Cases

P T A Holds Last Meeting For Year

The final meeting of the Parent Teachers Association for the year discussed Adult Education. County Agent L. Z. Tueller reported on Meadlyliles and recommendations while John H. Pendleton spoke on opportunities in Smith Hughes Industrial Arts and Home Economics. A committee was named to work with the school and Forest Service on summer Education and Recreation plans. The group will meet next Monday night to discuss summer work and a possible sewing and remodeling class with local women enthusiastic.

City Plans Summer Band Work and Water Gravel Fight

Parowan City Council agreed to support a ten week summer band program with night classes, funding a portion of the cost, and coordinating with School Music Director Weight. Daughters of Pioneers Meet Next Thursday

The regular May meeting of the Daughters of the Plonsars will be held next Thursday at the home of Mimora Pritehard. Officers urging all members and interested community people to attend. Page Knell and Miss Zola Ward traveled to Salt Lake City to escort Mr and Mrs Parker Ward to their home.
