Funeral services for Sarah Jane Page Evans 74 were held in Cedar City with Reverend William Burton presiding. She was born in Salt Lake City in 1879 to Daniel and Loiza Marsden Pace and was the widow of Ine Vettis Fo Evans. Survived by seven daughters and nine grandchildren, she lived in Utah most her life and helped in the Parowan Post Office as a girl.

Mayor E Ray Lyman told Parowan Literary Club no formal plan exists to widen Highway 91 through Main Street. He said the Utah State Road Commission favors current street width with parallel parking, but the city seeks curb widening to allow 20 degree parking on two blocks and to reduce a dangerous curve at the town’s south entrance. The council has kept in touch with the Bureau of Roads and plans to discuss changes with the Road Commission before any by pass.
An extensive Red Cross Home Nursing program began in Parowan with Mrs. Martin of the San Francisco Field Office launching a 30 hour Instructors' course.
