Parowan High Prom Date Set for March Twenty-Four

Parowan High School junior class fixes the date for the annual prom on Friday March 24 to be held in the school gym. Starlighters provide music for dancing. Ellen Miller is prom chairman with committee members Joan Pearles Kay Orton Donna Robinson and Clinton Lowder coordinating decorations programs and advertising. An assembly Friday afternoon will preview the event for the public.

John Beal to Lead Iron County Republicans

Dr John Beal of Cedar City was reelected to serve as chairman of the Iron County Republican organization at a convention of delegates from all precincts held Tuesday night. Also returned as county vice chairwoman was Mrs. Elone Jensen. Ta Vell Chamberlain was elected secretary treasurer. Edwin L Peterson and Mrs John Beal were named as Iron County representatives to the State Central Committee. Pat Fenton was elected head of Young Republicans in the county. Zelma Roth Glass and Gail Seegmiller named to posts. Utah to Receive Black Spotted Trout Eggs

Utah will receive about three million eggs from Yellowstone Park stock. The fish are cutthroats, in Utah waters they thrive, and a subspecies once native does not reproduce in numbers to support egg collection. Utah Fish and Game plans men in Yellowstone to assist egg take and later stock native trout in Strawberry and Scofield reservoirs, Uintah lakes, and high streams.

Funeral services for Lpp Bolton and Mrs Barton

Funeral services were held for Lpp Bolton and Mr William P Barton in Parowan and North Hollywood. Barton’s rites featured Bishop Gilbert Robinson and multiple musical numbers as relatives and neighbors gathered in tribute. burial followed in Parowan Cemetery.

Committee Studies Grazing District Boundary Lines

Parowan Faculty Celebrate St Patrick Day Social

Parowan High and elementary school faculties held a St Patrick's day social on Thursday night. Mrs Iona Topham led arrangements with Max Dalley Mrs George Mickelson Marvin Graff and Principal A C Hatch as members. Dalley presided as master of ceremonies at the dinner in the Home Bic room with Irish themed decorations and a featured blarney stone in the ceramics room.
