In a murky report a security agent placed a lien on a person named Nich 16th amid claims of a long troubled business history. The document references a security record and mentions a manager and a building address associated with the case.
Congressmen head to the West for a short field hearing on long range agricultural policy. Walter K. GranGer says a Salt Lake City session is set for March 23 with hearings lasting only a few hours before the panel moves on to Spokane Washington. Public testimony is encouraged and Utah officials are asked to assist with arrangements.
Local residents report travel and family news including Lieut Halterman in Parowan en route to Alameda after San Francisco training, mothers visiting relatives, and multiple births at the County Hospital. Families attended funerals in Orderville and visits to Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Wyoming, with new babies Geraldine, twins, and another daughter welcomed at home.

Parowan Jaycee unit earns the Brockbank travel trophy by amassing 7692 man miles during the Layton February 26 meeting. Kenyon Robinson accepts the award from Al Hart as 250 visitors are expected for Parowan's March 27 social with a Western Style Banquet in the Brown Derby.
Officers of the American Legion Auxiliary announce a department president will visit the western end of the state and hold a meeting in Cedar City on Wednesday afternoon March 17. Members from Parowan are urged to attend and contact local officers for details.
Parowan High School provided exchange assembly programs at Cedar City and Hurricane on Wednesday and plans to take the same group to Beaver and Milford today.
Mrs Ethel Bayles hosted the Parowan Literary Club meeting on March 4 with ten members present. Augusta Adams reviewed the biographical stage play Harriet detailing Stowe's life, followed by music and refreshments. The next meeting is March 17 at Haldah Hulet’s home with Fae Benson presenting Continued on back page.
Seven members of the local basketball quintette with Coach Claude Adams and Principal A. C. Hatch will attend the State High School Hoop Tournament in Salt Lake City this weekend. Limited numbers require a drawing, and the group will depart Friday morning to catch Friday and Saturday games.
Parowan High School music department under John Manning will perform a concert Sunday at 7:30 PM in the High School Auditorium. The program features the band and vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles from students who joined the Fillmore Music Festival last Friday. It is free to the public and invites parents patrons and friends to hear the highly rated performances before the May 1st Music Festival.
Parowan High School entered 18 students in multiple divisions at the Fillmore music festival. Twelve were rated highly superior and six superior, reflecting strong instruction and talent. Judging in vocal, instrumental, and piano divisions featured Prof. Wm. H. Manning, Prof. Newall B. Weight, Prof. Roy Halverson, and Frank Van Ott from Cedar City.
The Branch Agricultural Music department will present Verdi’s Rigoletto in Parowan at 8 p m on Saturday March 20 in the High School Auditorium. Professors Manning and Halverson will conduct with a strong local cast. Admission is 1.00 for adults and 50 cents for students, tickets at the High School.
The West Ward and Parowan Wards sponsor a three act comedy titled His Name Was Aunt Nellie at Repression Hall on Wednesday night March 17. Veteran actor Bo Taylor Miller directs and stars with a colorful cast including Jean Hendrickson Ellen Miller Lloyd De Mille Donetta Taylor Bessie Halterman Harley Dalton Lennie Page and Warren A. Dalton. Set in the Baldwin House in Seaford Connecticut the play follows Archie Baldwin Ed Saunders and families as they plot trips to Saratoga races with feigned relatives and mistaken visits.
Iron County Commissioners met in Parowan to discuss road location changes between U.S. highways 69 and 91, with input from landowner Milton Gentry. They planned a new two year lease for Harley W. Dalton at the Iron County Old Folks home and approved a $2040 Public Health Nursing program expenditure, up from $624. John Cullen sought a license for a near Cedar City night club with gas station services and dancing.
The John R. Robinson family reunion held March 6 drew almost two hundred members, the largest turnout yet. Officers were elected, reports read, a short program followed, then a cafeteria lunch of chicken, salad, baked beans, cake, and ice cream. Attendees included out of town guests from Beaver Cedar City Summit Enterprise Jucion Salt Lake City and Parowan locals.
The M I A comedy New Fires in three acts will be shown Friday evening March 12 at o o clock in the school house auditorium.
