The Cedar City junior high school will present Pentod a four act play next Thursday evening in the recreation hall. Admission is free and a musical program will be included.
Utah lawmakers affirm that Branch Agricultural College Weber Snow and Dixie will remain part of the state system. The plan slashes appropriations for a two year period, with Dixie facing a takeover effort opposed by Sen. Wilters Day. Snow College Ephraim receives 34500. Branch College 27309. Dixie funding debated amid statewide cost concerns.
Governor Henry H. Blood issued a proclamation urging Utahns to express loyalty to the president and support his policies during the national crisis. He calls for citizens to gather in churches and other places on Sunday March 11, 1939 to pledge their loyalty and back national leadership.
Emily Crane Watson of Cedar City and former resident of this community has passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. Funeral services are planned for Sunday at 2 oclock in Cedar City with burial in Cedar Cemetery. Also noted is Edgar M. Clark traveling to St George as a witness in the Jimine Adams murder case, where Adams was acquitted after over eleven hours of jury deliberation.
Branch Agricultural College at Cedar City presents Much Ado About Nothing with a combined cast of faculty and students. Ruth Clark of Cedar City is chosen to play Bea Trice, with Lillian Patterson of Beaver also cast in the role. multiple Cedar City and regional students and faculty members are listed in supporting parts.
Howard Adams of Para Wah, star guard for B A C, earned a place on the mythical all star team chosen by coaches league officials and referees. Teammates include Church and Lina say of Weber, Wade of Weber, Griggs of Ricks on the first team. Stratton Potter and Gardner on the second. Dixie and Ricks players received further mentions, while Adams drew praise as one of the best guards in B A C history and reportedly received a college offer.
Cossacks from the alleppes will appear in flesh and blood at the Lranch Agricultural College in a concert March 17 under Susu arts course. Sergei Sokoloff directs the famous Russian Cossack Chorus dressed in knee-length tunics with cartridge belts. Their voices, rising like a giant organ, are described as living vital and unusually blended for harmony.
