Unique Feature Planned For Zion Park Opening
The Salt Lake tabernacle choir of two hundred fifty voices will sing at the base of the Great White Throne in Zion National Park with remote organ accompaniment as the park opens on June 1. A special Union Pacific train from Salt Lake City will bring the choir, with a cent a mile rate, and Cedar City chambers cooperate on transportation and funding. The plan, attributed to Mr. Brown of the Utah Oil Refining Co., involves a Cedar City concert in the evening after a park visit and noon meal, then the return trip to Salt Lake City.

Nine schools competed as Parowan High School excelled in one act play stock judging essay and sewing contests. Parowan won first in one act play directed by Mike Cruikshank with Ross Hyatt Della Smith and Mark Gudmundsen. Mark Gudmundsen took the essay prize and a scholarship. Wilburn Taylor earned another stock judging scholarship.
