Local Enthusiasts Visit Springdale Art Exhibit

Noted Utah Athlete Visits Home Town

Alma Richards of Los Angeles visited Parowan during the first week to attend the Rare Meet event with his wife. They planned Ural Parks tours and visits with relatives in Salt Lake City and San Francisco before returning home to Southern California. Richards is noted as the Beehive State’s only three time world champion in high jump.

Church Doings In West Ward Promote New Leader

Mrs Ida King is appointed president of the Young Ladies Mutual Improvement Association of the West Ward succeeding Mrs Als Ada Adams. Alberta Evans and Lennie Page continue as counselors. Parowan Independence Day Program Highlights

An all day event at East Ward Chapel features a parade at 3 AM, prelude organ music, songs including The Star Spangled Banner, vows and prayers, speeches by Mary Topham and Uncle Sam tribute by Taylors, Miss Utah Alice Bayles, a car serenade, a ballooned program with Steve Adams and Kenneth Topham, plus a ball game, children's dance, a West Ward recreation hall performance, a concert by Notes Orchestra, and a building fund drive with food sales and concessions throughout the day.

A new mail schedule takes effect Saturday affecting Parowan Paragonah and Summit patrons. Mail leaves Cedar City at 9 00 A M arrives Paragonah 10 30 A M, leaves Paragonah 4 00 P M arrives Cedar City 4 30 P M. Parowan outgoing mail due by 3 30 P M. Saturday window closes at 1 00 P M. Post Office hours 9 00 A M to 6 00 P M except Saturday closing at 1 00 P M.
