The Dairy Company plans a 350 locker initial installation with option for 366 total units to serve Puro wihvaragonah and Summit. Lockers priced about 12 dollars per year, funded via advance applications and Bank of Southern Utah deposits, with priority to funders who purchase, then livestock meat storage and processing facilities added. Navy honors UH airman with honorable discharge

Tech Joseph, returned home from Navy service, receives honorable medical discharge after his ship, an oil tanker, was torpedoed and burned. He suffered lung injuries but is reported stable in Seattle. Navy assigns land duty options if he remains physically able.

Newlyweds Honored At Tuesday Reception

A large crowd attended a Tuesday evening reception at the Westward church in Salt Lake City to honor Mr. and Mrs. Theron J. Wheatley whose marriage was solemnized last week in the Salt Lake temple. The groom’s mother Mrs. Dagmar Wheatley and sister Miss Gwen Wheatley of Honeyville attended with out-of-town relatives. the couple will visit Honeyville before returning to the Navy station at Norfolk Virginia where Seaman Wheatley will be stationed. Ray Lyman traveled to Salt Lake City last weekend and returned with a new livestock and mine equipment outfit.

Hulse Faces Murder Trial In District Court

Cedar City man John Hulse, 33, operator of B garage at Kawarta, was ordered held without bail on murder charges after a hearing before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo. He allegedly beat Edwin Hamblin and Cecil Starr following a June 2 collision, with Hamblin dying June 4. Hulse may be arraigned next Tuesday in the Pitth Judicial District Court.

Austin Halterman Lost In Prison Ship Sinking

Two more veterans return home as families learn of Private First Class Austin L Halterman reported missing in action since Corrigidor fall, later confirmed dead when a Japanese prison ship sank on October 24 1944 in the South China Sea. He enlisted in January 1941 from Maywood California and served with the Air Corps in the Philippines.
