Grasshopper Bait Mixing Slated At Paragonah Tomorrow
A county campaign to combat a grasshopper outbreak invites farmers to mix poison bait at Paragonah and nearby locations Saturday June 17. Volunteers will run from 9 30 am to noon at Paragonah and 1 pm to 4 pm at the local garage with supplies including arsenate. Farmers are urged to prepare shovels and bring extra bags to store the mixed bait and to act before grasshoppers reach winged stage. County Agent Lamont and Mr. Tustler request cooperative participation to protect crops.

Funeral Services Held For Harriet D Hulet
Funeral services for Harriet Dalley Hulet were held last Friday in the East ward chapel directed by Bishop W L Adams. Burial followed at Summit where she had lived many years. The service featured a choir under Ormon Weight with Florence Marsden at the piano and soloists including Wm. Dilton Ruth D. Orton and Oren Weight. Speakers included Barbara M Adams and Bishop Adams of this city, plus Weber Harvison of Newcastle. A large attendance from Summit, Newcastle and surrounding areas and a profusion of flowers marked the ceremony.

Parowan Milling Company stockholders voted a 15 percent assessment on outstanding stock to raise funds for wheat purchases and sustain mill operation until the Salt harvest. FFA Exhibits Shine At Stack Show In Salt Lake
Members of the FFA focal chapter entered two steers in the Janine Livestock Show held in Salt Lake City last week. Robert Rowley of Parowan showed a Hereford that placed sixth in its division, sold for 95 dollars at auction, with total costs around 80 dollars and a 7.50 prize. Hugh Robinson of Paragonah entered a Shorthorn in the light weight division. it sold for 9905 per pound, boosting the owner's proceeds. The youths traveled by pickup with supervision from Ray D. Garner while their fathers attended.

Local woman injured in rollover near Gallup New Mexico
Mrs John S Dalton was injured with humerus cuts bruises and a fractured wrist when a car carrying her son in law and daughter Me and Mrs Sam Humptus and their infant daughter from Salt Lake City rolled near Gallup New Mexico on a trip to Texas. The group, naming Humptus Rumpfus, all survived with others also hurt but traveled home as the car remained undamaged. The crash occurred when Mr Humpfus dozed at the wheel after visiting Grand Canyon and Boulder Dam.
