Independence Day celebration plans outlined by ward committee
The finance committee for the Fast Ward Building met Tuesday to finalize plans for Independence Day activities. A public meeting, concerts, a children's dance, sports, and various concessions will be held throughout the day to raise funds for adding to the Pleasant Ward Chapel. The program includes a band concert, school music, and dances by the Young People and Sun-Hy School. The Relief Society will run food sales and other groups will manage concessions. The entire stake and other communities are invited to participate, with a report meeting set for Wednesday at Mr. Peter Gurr's home.

The American Legion Auxiliary unit in Taylor hosted a luncheon at Taylor's Cafe on Tuesday honoring Mrs Bott State Department President and other dignitaries including Miss Margaret Bott and Mrs Elizabeth Perry State chairman of Americanism. Local unit president Miss Anna T Adams presided as speakers shared messages on Americanism while tables featured blue pink and white snowballs.

Last Rites Held For Mrs Louise Warren
Funeral services were held at the West Ward Chapel for Mrs Harriet Loulay Cipron Way 77 who died May 31 with LeRoy Adams presiding. A trio sang Rack of Agee as the opening hymn, and prayers and speeches followed by musical numbers. Pallbearers included five of her sons. Immediate family and many relatives attended, with out-of-town mourners also present.

Last Rites For Former Parowan Matron Draw Large Salt Lake Crowd
