Helen Warren Becomes Mrs Cartwright in Parowan

Helen Warren marries Wilton Cartwright of Beaver in a July 15 ceremony at the bride’s parents home, Parowan. W Clair Rowley officiated before close family and friends as the couple then hosted a reception and dance at the Parowan First Ward recreation hall. The bride wore a white tafetta gown with overskirt and carried white carnations and red roses. attendants wore pink and orchid as matches. Best man Jim Bohn and attendants helped with gifts. Alton Merritt led the program and a Karol solo was performed. The couple plans a Grand Canyon honeymoon and reside in Beaver.

Mrs. Alice Barton to Attend Rheumatic Power Workshop in Salt Lake City

County Health Nurse Mrs. Alice Barton will be away from the office next week. She will travel to Salt Lake City to attend a Rheumatic Power workshop at the University of Utah and return August 2.

Timber For Stake Hall Felled By Volunteers

A volunteer group from Parowan Stake cut about 40 000 feet of yellow pine at Houston Flat for a new recreation hall. Under Arnold Gurr and committee leaders, eight large trees were felled, each three to seven logs long, with spruce timber totaling 36 000 feet planned for later processing. Logs will be sent to stake sawmills for finishing lumber.

Homemade ice cream pile and cake will be sold at the church square in the morning of the 24th by the local D. U. P. camps.

About 150 primary Trail Builder Boys of Parowan with parents and leaders attended the Trail Bulld em Porlu Lay at Vive Mile camp Saturday evening. Elaine Adama chaired, with Leone Rasmussen Irene Beatley Pearl Keewell directing stake groups. Hor Adate led an hour of baseball, then a camp fire games session directed by Roberta Rowley.

Feted Ai Summit Garden Parity Event at Hulet Home

Junior Gleaners of the MIA in Parowan District enjoyed an outdoor garden party at Mr and Mrs Gear J Hulets Summit home for about fifty girls from all wards. Mix a Alaudia Matheson led arrangements with ward class presidents and Mrs Golda Guymon aiding. An outing to Mam moth in Parowan Mountains is planned for early August.

Parowan Welcomes Visitors For Pioneer Day Parade

Parowan invites visitors for Pioneer Day with a full day program and a 10 am parade. Parade entries include the Queen Dorothye Adame and attendants Sylvia Smith and Jackie Ward, with marching bands, color guard, floats, and horse sections. Noon Luncheon for Elderly Postponed by Utah Pioneers

Members of the local Utah Pioneers Dawters camp regretfully announce the noon luncheon for elderly county residents must be postponed due to unusable camp rooms and a cluttered kitchen. The group plans a later invitation this season and will hold a food sale Thursday morning offering pies cakes and ice cream to support the Pioneer Day luncheon effort.
