Funeral Services For Marvin Halterman Held
Funeral services for Joseph Marvin Halterman were held in Parowan under Berg Mortuary direction. He died in Provo hospital after an appendectomy three weeks earlier. Born 1820 in Parowan, he was the son of Joseph Marion Halterman and Ida Pendleton Halterman and had lived most of his life in Parowan. He is survived by his mother Lorin C Smith, several siblings, and many relatives. Burial followed at Parowan City Cemetery.

Friends and relatives gathered in Parowan Thursday July 10 to honor Thomas Benson Bennett who died suddenly of a heart attack the preceding Monday. Bishop Karl Mitchell led funeral services at 2 pm in the Ward Chapel with organ prelude and postlude by Itha Mortensen and songs by a male quartet.

Oliphant Family Marks Mother's 100th Birthday in Parowan
L144 descendants gathered in Parowan on a Saturday to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mrs. Oliphant, with many relatives visiting from Salt Lake City Provo Cedar City St George and San Jose. Attendees included sons a daughter and sons in law, a Marine relative, and extended family from Utah and California. The gathering featured a large dinner a program and afternoon sports before adjourning to continue festivities.

Paragenah Youth Injured In 20 Foot Fall
Alan Dailey teen son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Dailey was rushed to the hospital after an accidental fall while exploring Hivebrock cliffs south of the elf cave. He sustained head wounds a broken pelvis and other injuries from a tumble twenty feet down. His cousin Lynn Mostell assisted. Mrs Jas Mettiride Helen Stones and others aided until Dr Wilkerson and J Lowe Barton arranged transport. Expected to remain in hospital about a week with six weeks of recovery at home.
