County Board Weighs Post War Road Plan in Cedar City

County officials discussed a Post War road program proposed by Secretary Ivan Decker. The board approved sending resolutions to state and federal road authorities and asked for a survey of Highways 91 and 89, while urging action on Cedar-Long Valley highway improvements and graveling the mining south from Beryl to Cedar-Modena road. They also considered a Cedar yan to Cottonwood road link, weed control funding, and health program financing for 1945.

West Ward Names Sunday Speaker for Sacrament Meeting

County Shooting Rocks From Mountain Roads

Deputy county road supervisor Taylor Miller uses a compressor to drill and shoot large boulders from the Sum mitt mountain road and will haul it to Paragonah canyon to clear more obstructions. Parowan Pioneers Plan Pioneer Day Festivities

The Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Parowan announce Pioneer Day events led by Hulda M. Hulet including a morning program in Old Rock Church and relic displays, a children's dance, and an Old Time Costume Ball. Rex C. Atwood of the Social Security District Office will visit Parowan and nearby towns July 18 to 28 to assist with Social Security claims and provide information. residents may leave their names with the postmaster for contact.

Explosive licensing eased for Cedar City residents

County Commission changes allow Sheriff Lamb to issue both Federal and State explosive licenses from Cedar City offices. Residents still must obtain the State license elsewhere, while the Federal license remains issued by Clerk Rowley. The reform reduces trips for local users and streamlines licensing processes.
