Iron County welcomes L E Tueller of Paris Idaho as county agent after a six year gap. Tueller, a Utah Agricultural College graduate, will work with W We Owens and begin in Cedar City area training and community outreach before establishing an office at the courthouse or federal building space. County budget notes show $8000 planned for the term with costs shared by state federal and county offices.

Twin baby girls die after premature birth at county hospital
Premature twins born to Mr and Mrs Marion Halterman at County hospital Wednesday morning lived only a brief time. Each weighed about two and a half pounds. Mrs Halterman was rushed to the hospital during the night prior.

Parowan Junior Base Ball Team Wins First Practice Game
Parowan's junior baseball team sponsored by the American Legion won its first practice game last Saturday evening, defeating Cedar City 16 to 13. Walker Ward pitched the full game, Jay Macfarlane excelled behind the plate, and the team wore a new uniform purchased with a loan from the Bank and local contributions. A return game at Cedar on Wednesday saw Cedar win 26 to 18 as they jumped to a nine-run opening. Some older players ineligible for junior competition appeared for Cedar.
