Bronson H Adams Dies After Operation at 40

Funeral services were held in Parowan and Murray for Bronson H Adams 40 after a heart collapse following an operation for ulcers. He was born in Parowan Sept 6 1905, attended Parowan High and Dixie College, married Edith Amundsen in 1933, and worked for Union Pacific Railroad based in Murray. Survived by widow two daughters and son, parents and four brothers and a sister. Burial in Murray City Cemetery.

Paragonah Ward Summer Mutual Participation Grows

Parag onah Ward reports strong turnout as almost 100 girls join the summer mutual program. An outdoor party at Vermillion Castle in Parowan Canyon featured gifts and a picnic lunch for families, with plans for a charitable event and a discussion on religious aspects hosted by local leaders.

Bi-Stake Relief Society Convention Slated For July 7

A joint convention for Relief Society visiting teachers and ward supervisors from Parowan and Cedar Stakes will be held at Summit Ward Chapel on Friday at 3 pm. Carey's Ward-Clyde Shurtleff Unite in Temple Rites

Carey Ward of Fapowan and Clyde Shurtleff of Provo wed in a Manti Temple ceremony on Tuesday before 4. Relatives came from Mirowan and Provo as the couple hosted a wedding reception in Parowan. Parents Mr and Mrs James Shurtleff of Provo and Mr and Mrs Ward of Fapowan attended. The bride wore an ivory gown with sweetheart neckline and lace veil. She was aided by six sisters in pastel gowns. A program featured local solos and readings, with dancing after refreshments. The couple left for Grand Canyon and plan to settle in Provo, then Salt Lake City for Mr Shurtleff’s medical studies.

Former Parowan Man Is Installed as Lions Club President

Clair M. Mortensen, trust officer of Walker Bank & Trust, was installed as president of the Salt Lake City Lions Club on Thursday evening. He is the eldest son of former Parowan residents Joseph and Nora Mortensen, a Parowan High School graduate who has lived in Provo and Salt Lake City. He is married with one daughter.
