Fire damages Cedar City firms in building blaze
A midnight fire in the Thortey Building Cedar City damaged Lawrence Electric Co and Cedar Floral Shop in the same apartment. Losses included radios fixtures and office items at the Electric Co and flowers canaries at the Floral Shop. Texle Power Co adjoining unit reported losses and some records were destroyed. Minor damage to Hunter Brothers and Bergstrom Co stock. Insurance covered most losses. adjuster began settlement Tuesday morning. Fire likely started in the Lawrence Electric furnace.

Charles Davenport Adams Dies Suddenly at Parowan
Charles Davenport Adams longtime Iron County resident and former County Clerk died suddenly on Saturday morning after a stroke-like episode while camped near a sheep camp northwest of Parowan. Funeral services were held Wednesday at West Ward chapel with tributes from family and community members. He was born September 24, 1866, in Parowan and leaves a wife Mary Jake Whittey Adams and fourteen children, eleven living, plus siblings.

Mrs. William Osbourn Dies After Illness in Ephraim
Mrs. William Osbourn wife of District Road Engineer Osbourn died in Ephraim after a brief pneumonia illness. She was born in Texas and active in politics as a Southern Democrat. The family lived in Utah many years and she left Cedar City to run a hotel in Ephraim. She is survived by her husband and a young son.
