Baptismal Service Set For February 1 At East Ward Chapel

Bishop Bitchell of the East Ward announced a baptismal service in the afternoon of February 1 at the East Ward chapel for the Para Win wards and possibly the Para group and Summit wards. Parents with children to be baptised should note the date.

Fenton Takes Over Local Picture Show

The J. B. McLean lease on the local show house, owned by Mitch ell and Lowe, was taken over the first of the week by FR L Fenton of the Parowan Drug Co. After health issues from a prior automobile accident, McLean and family left town. Lease terms, especially the monthly rental, caused a brief closure but a satisfactory adjustment was reached and the theater will reopen Thursday night.

Monday and Tuesday nights plunged to 12 and 16 degrees below zero as the government thermometer in charge reported record cold. Another evening saw 8 below. by Wednesday night the valley reading stood at 6 above amid unusually cold conditions this winter.
