Zion National Park Named All Year Park Evidence Noted
Zion National Park in Utah is described as an all year park with November and December visitor data and January activity. Superintendent T E Scoven notes daily private autos and people entering, road conditions are good, and the 64 mile route from Cedar City is now mostly gravel. Park naturalist A M Woodbury recounts the origin of Zion’s name, tracing it from Joseph Black and the first settlers to Little Zion and the idea of the canyon as a temple of God rather than Salt Lake City.

Parowan Hunters Win Annual Hunt Again
The Parowan boys won the annual fig rabbit hunt with 624 rabbits across fifteen hunters averaging over 41 each. Paragonah Iweal were second with 531, Beaver third at about 459, while Roy Benson led with 63, Don Skougard 68, and Gagar Benson 5. Followed by a banquet and dance, the trophy is displayed in Parowan Drug store. a local penant banner bears Parowan’s name.
