Bank of Iron County Re-Elects Some Directors

Stockholders re elected the former Board for another year with Leland B. Flint Joseph A. Ottenheimer W Scott Mitchell E Ray Lyman E J King Robert L Fenton Ivan Decker John Bayles Parowan and Thomas A Topham Paragona named. The meeting reported a highly successful year and executive officers will be named next by the Board. A benefit event at the Stake Welfare project includes a Pirowan Cirleville basketball game, a movie, a floor show, and dancing with tickets at 1.00 for adults and 0.50 for under 12.

Social clubs and travels fill Parowan week

Parowan residents hosted and attended club meetings and social events last week. Mrs. Alice Barton and Mrs. Hazel Pendleton presented American Folklore for the Parowan Literary Club with 16 members present. next gathering January 20 at Mrs. Edna Brown’s home. The Tri-H Club met at Mrs. Bryce Adams’s home with birthday greetings for Don Cartwright. G.O. Club enjoyed a New Year’s Eve evening including dinner at Garry Bentley’s and a Legion dance ending at the Mert Mitchell home. YMV Club met at Mrs. Jay Rogerson’s home for sewing and dessert. prize winners named. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Smith hosted a dinner party with table games and prizes for Roy Adams, Vera Dalton, Carma Hulet, and Sherwin Benson. ONO Club hosted Mrs. Florence S. Benson at her new home for sewing and visiting. Several members traveled. Mrs. Don Lyman flew to Athens, Tennessee, for a month with relatives, and Mrs. Kenneth Joseph prepared for a cross‑country drive to Hampstead, North Carolina with family. Russ Jardine and son George from San Francisco stayed with the Kings during Mercantile fire re‑opening week. figures in town also included Lee Flint and Joseph Ottenheimer. Rex C. Ward and daughter Helen visited from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Claude Adams remains at Iron County Hospital with pneumonia largely cleared but phlebitis persists.

David Richard Tattersall, a 6 pound 1 ounce boy, arrived January 5 at Iron County Hospital to Richard L. and Sandra Robinson Tattersall of Parowan. Jim Hyatt Leaves For Calif Air Base

Jim Hyatt leaves Thursday for California to report at Edwards Air Base January 20 for the remainder of his enlistment. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hyatt and just completed a 30 day overseas tour in the Northern Atlantic area. He is accompanied by his mother and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Orton and a Cedar City friend Miss Clark. They will stay with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Cena (Beth Orton) of Castro Valley for a few days, with the Orion family to host a longer visit.

Unprecedented interest prompts a definite schedule for Parowan High School adult education this year. Most classes underway. woodwork delayed until after February 1.
