Federal auditors report Parowan's publicly owned hydro electric and water systems generated 41 979 80 in net revenue from January 1 1929 to October 31 1934. The earnings exclude bond interest sinking fund and free lights for churches libraries and indigent families. If credited for unpaid services the systems could cover bond costs, but most revenues funded city operating expenses.

Relief Committee Holds Brief Meeting Here
A county Federal Emergency Relief Administration committee met at the courthouse Thursday afternoon. County manager Wm. R. Palmer outlined a new setup shifting the burden of unemployables from federal to state and likely to county governments by February 1. Mur. Palmer announced Lou Decker will visit Tuesday to discuss the plan with county officials. The committee considered filling a vacancy left by Ellis Rose Gardner and adding another member, with candidates including Rev. Wm. Forsyth Mrs. E. A. Farrow Mr. Oscar Larson and Mrs. Gurli Lundgren. Current members are M. J. Uris chair Barbara M. Adams W. Warner Mitchell and Thomas W. Jones. Georgia Jensen is secretary. Through October 31 the county received 161,692.82 in commodities with about 2,509 more distributed in the last two months. 820 cans of fruit and vegetables valued at 1,164 allocated under food conservation remain unused. Fifteen hundred forty pounds of fresh meat are distributed weekly. Mr. Wilford Day is in Salt Lake City on business this week.
