County Officials Adopt 1952 Iron County Budget
Iron County officials approved a 1952 budget totaling 358 276 34 with minor fund adjustments. Sheriff Chief Deputy salary rose to 1800 per year, 3000 moved to salaries from general funds, and a 1000 set for National Convention expenses. Summit Town sidewalk aid approved with county material support. Next meeting set for January 14 in Parowan Courtroom.

Literary Club Evening Highlights Beethoven Works
Parowan Literary Club met at Mrs. Georgia B. Mitchell’s home for an evening devoted to Ludwig van Beethoven. Iona P. Topham organized the program with Ramona and Elna Stubbs assisting. Ramona played Moonlight Sonata Fur Elise and Opus 49 while Elna, with Ramona, performed the Minuet in G. Bertha Mitchell attended as guest as 13 members were present. Topham to host January 16 with Ida King organizing an art program aided by Wilford Young.

Former Salt Lake matron Phoebe Gogoff dies at 58
Mrs Phoebe Elizabeth Libbie Benson Gogoff 58 of 663 Irrd Avenue Salt Lake City died Tuesday at 9 am in Salt Lake General Hospital of pneumonia and chronic complications. Funeral services were held Thursday at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park. She was born March 6 1893 in Parowan to John and Mary Benson and lived in Parowan and Salt Lake City. She married Jack Liddiard about 1918, later Alex Gogoff, and survived by daughter Mary Lou Magleston and four brothers and one sister.

Registration Held For Adult Education Classes
