Three Local Ladies Injured In Highway Accident

Three local women Mrs Verda Rowley Munford Mrs Minnie F Rowley and Miss Joan Adele Adams were injured in a truck car crash last Saturday four miles southwest of town. Mrs Munford and her mother were treated at Iron County hospital for severe shock and bruises. Miss Adams was treated at home by a local physician. The truck driver Gerald J Macklura of Fort Wayne Indiana was not hurt.

Relief Societies Sponsor Clothing Drive for Korea Relief

The Relief Societies of the Parowan Stake urge bundles of clean wearable clothing for Korea’s war victims. Mrs. Edna Hatch asks for items for all ages, including underclothes, shoes, and outerwear, mailed to Chaplain Timothy H. Iron AP O No. 7 SF CA. News notes Parowan residents may send 18 pound bundles for $1 through the San Francisco post office, with cash contributions directed to Desert News Korean Relief in Salt Lake City.

Deep Purple Theme Planned for Parowan Junior Prom

Parowan High School will host a semi formal prom with Deep Purple as the theme announced by Prom chairman Silsa Ida Talbot. Decorations and a four foot show will emphasize the theme with help from Marlene Mortensen Jeannine Kvatt and other student leaders. The Starlighters Orchestra will provide music for dancing and tickets cost $1.25 with $0.25 for extra invitations.

Former Parowan Woman Prepares for California Mission

A former Parowan woman is at the L D S Mission home in Salt Lake City receiving preliminary training before departing for a mission to the Southern California district. A Beaver social honored Mrs Marian Mitchell Tolton, with family from Parowan and Beaver in attendance. Tolton is called for a six month mission with possible extension to 18 months if health permits.

Early P T A Presidents Honored At Founders Day Program

Founders Day marked the 16th anniversary of the Perowan Parent-Teachers Association with honors for early presidents Mrs. Florence Joseph and Mrs. Hazel Pendleton. Major Max S. Immunization Clinic March 7 Sponsored by P T A Parowan

The Parowan Elementary School Parent Teacher Association will sponsor an immunization clinic on Friday March 7 at the schoolhouse. Residents may attend at 10 15 A M to receive vaccines including Rocky Mountain spotted fever typhoid smallpox and booster shots with nominal fees. Smallpox 25 cents per vaccination booster dose recommended if over five years since last vaccination. Typhoid 20 cents for three shots and booster. Fever vaccines priced at two dollars for adults booster noted.

Missionary Social Reset For Monday Night

Parowan Clinic Draws Blood Typing for 62 Residents

Blood specimens from 62 individuals in Parowan and nearby areas were collected Thursday morning at Doctor L W Sorenson's Parowan office to type blood and determine Rh factors. The clinic, second of its kind, was organized by Sorenson, coordinator of the medical Civil Defense Council projects in Southern Utah.

Community psychology clinics and church building plans announced

Eminent authorities from Utah State Agricultural College will hold marriage relations and parent adolescent child seminars in Parowan with visits to district locales and a 10 a.m. session at Parowan High School.
