The Parowan Rams coached by Bruce Decker defeated Beaver 38 to 30 in a defensive battle led by Dog Stubbs and Eric Clark. Rams pull ahead in the third quarter then hold on as Beaver rallies. They travel to Richfield Saturday for a non league tilt with next league game vs Milford in Parowan.

Parowan reports a polio fund drive total of 575 dollars with 419 from house to house canvassing by clubs and civic groups. Elementary pupils contributed 100, high school 30, and 26 from business-donated containers. Fourth grade ran a store and gave 11 dollars. Walter Stubbs sent funds from California. PTA to Sponsor Typhoid Immunization Clinics
Parowan Elementary and High School talent teachers associations will sponsor typhoid immunization clinics at the elementary building starting February 18 at 10 a.m. Those with three typhoid inoculations last year or a booster dose need a booster this year at 15 cents. Others require three inoculations at 3 cents per dose. An immunization clinic for Rocky Mountain spotted fever will be announced later. Similar clinics are planned in Paragonah.

Mrs Lyman said her son Jim will graduate from UCLA in June with a chemistry degree.

Former Resident Rozella Richards Dies in Denver Home
Relatives in Parowan learned Feb 1 that Rozella Richards age 78, native of Parowan, died after a long illness at her Denver Cole home. Funeral services reportedly held Thursday in Denver with burial there. She taught school in youth and is survived by four sisters Jennie Jensen Parowan Mary Bentley Nora and Adel Richards Denver and by several nieces and nephews including Jude and Arlo Jensen and Georgia Meeks of Parowan Joan Leigh Cedar City Merton Richards El Monte Calif and others in Denver.

Parowan City reports its new hydroelectric plant at Paragonah Canyon is ready for a test run Thursday afternoon. Engineer Dr. Thomas C. Adams arrived to oversee the switch. The 400 kilowatt unit, paired with Parowan’s 560 kW plant, is expected to meet winter demand and may surplus power sold to Southern Utah Power Co.
