Former Parowan Resident Buried After Beaver Death
Former Parowan resident Axra G Thornton, 72, died suddenly at his Beaver home from a heart attack. Burial rites were held in Beaver and he was brought to the city cemetery here for interment after a service in the LDS ward chapel. He leaves two sons Wallace of Draper and Grant of Salt Lake City, several daughters including Berlin Kelney and Jessie Thornton, twenty six grandchildren and many relatives.

Stake Conference In Purowan Stake Next Weekend
The Purowan Stake quarterly conference will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14, with Blake conventions of the Primary and Sunday School organizations. Kimball and the postmaster were named to form a committee to gather details on convictions at Cedar City for later action. L. J. Adams discussed a proposed state police setup and advised opposition to the measure while supporting bills allowing municipalities to sell power beyond limits and reform the state health department. A. M. Blarsden reported that Bank of Tron County assets are mortgaged and stockholders’ equity is undetermined until the mortgage is paid. The bank building recently drew a bona fide offer of 7,500 but expansion to suit others remains pending. The group decided stockholders should meet to organize and protect their interests.
