Old Folks Sing Christmas at County Rest Home
The WNTY group at a county rest home sang their first Christmas of the season in February and thanked the commissioners for opening the home. Private parties were held at one home with Santa Kim visiting. They also thanked friends and relatives for gifts and good wishes as season greetings were sent, and J Whitney, the home manager, said everyone enjoyed a free Christmas.

Death claims two former Parowan residents
Two former Parowan residents died during the week. Thomas T. Durham 77 died in Lomita California on Christmas Day. Edward Mickelson 66 was killed in an accident in Lovell Wyoming December 22. Durham was born December 12 1869 in Parowan. He served in church roles in Parowan and Long Beach. He married twice and had multiple children. Mickelson born Parowan September 24 1880, left for Bighorn Wyoming region. survived by his wife, siblings and 18 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements listed for Long Beach California.

Parowan youths return home for holidays and a car wreck
Messers Rulon Pendleton and Glen Taylor came home for the holidays. Arch Benson wrecked his Dodge near UB dam in Millard County last Thursday night with two Parowan companions Vernill Orton and Frank Stevens. Frost on the windshield prevented seeing the guard rail and curbing, damaging the car and injuring passengers. Virginia Bergstrom of Cedar City visits Parowan at her grandfather’s. William Mitchell and Golden Paramore traveled to Provo to spend Christmas with Paramore family.
