County Board Dec meeting fixes 1927 budget and salaries
The County Commissioners held the December session with officers present to review the 1927 budget. They tentatively adopted the budget and set a public hearing for December 27. A road through the Webster property near Enoch was to be opened if locals built the fence and road. A hogan land damage claim was referred for investigation amid a large list of road claims awaiting action.

Husband of Parowan Girl Dies After Hospital Visit
Jedediah Lunt Jones son of Thes J Jones of Cedar City and husband of Genevieve Mitchell Jones formerly of this city died last Wednesday at the County hospital after an appendicitis operation. A blood clot in the artery to his stomach was listed as the direct cause, though its link to the surgery or preexisting illness remains unclear. He was in his early thirties, a thrifty man, survived by his wife six daughters his father and several brothers and sisters and many relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday with many relatives from here in attendance. The Times extends sympathy to the bereaved. Relatives of Miss Lorna Connell attended her funeral last Wednesday including Mrs Alma McGregor Mrs Myrtle Whitehead Mrs Lola Woodbury Mrs Bertha McGregor Miss Gertude and Eryma McGregor Miss Mona Woodbury and Lorenzo Donald McGregor of St George Mrs Emily Watson and Messrs Staph Millard and Dove Watson of Cedar City.

In a severe crash on the Land Cedar highway a car struck a house mounted on a truck killing Thomas F P Byrnes instantly and Clarente Olsen after days of suffering.
