The Parowan Junior Chamber of Commerce hosted a magic show at the high school auditorium featuring Wilford & Co. The evening impressed a large audience with the lighting trunk escape and Doll House Illusion while raising 65 dollars to help cover Christmas lighting and fireworks projects in Parowan this year.

Pat Fenton Passes Utah State Bar Exam
Pat Fenton, son of Mr and Mrs R L Fenton, has passed the Utah State Bar Examination on his first attempt. He earned a BS and LLB from the University of Utah last spring and was among 22 successful applicants out of 47 in November. He will be sworn in by the Supreme Court in Salt Lake City on January 15.

Messiah Thrills Huge Crowd At East Ward Parowan
A capacity crowd filled Parowan East Ward Chapel to hear the Messiah performed by Cedar City choral groups B A C Mixed Chorus and B A C orchestra under Prof. Halverson and Prof. Manning. Elmo Lowder Breaks Leg After Ice Slip in Cedar City
Elmo Lowder a local service station operator sustained a double leg fracture when he slipped on ice in front of the Avery building in Cedar City last Saturday night. He fell while reentering the building after attending fights with his brother Art Lowder. Doctors at County Hospital set the leg on Tuesday and he expects to be moved home soon for recovery.

Paragonah Ward Relief Society Bazaar And Dance
Paragonah Ward Relief Society held a large bazaar and dance on December 10 with a big crowd. A variety of items were for sale and prizes went to lucky-number holders. Corsages went to the oldest and youngest mothers, Mrs. Julia Griffiths of Greenville and Mrs. Scott Barton, as a decorated Christmas tree added festive spirit.

Paragonah Woman Killed in Colorado Crash
Former Paragonah resident Mrs. Zola Robinson, 47, died instantly in a car wreck near Rio Blanco, Colorado. Her husband Joseph was seriously injured, with multiple broken ribs, but attended the funeral. Surviving are a daughter, two sons, a nephew raised by the couple, five grandchildren, a sister in Salt Lake City, and several brothers in Utah. Funeral services were held Saturday in Rifle, Colorado, directed by Latter-day Saint missionaries, with pallbearers and relatives from Paragonah and nearby towns in attendance.

Santa Claus To Visit Ward Programs On Eve
Santa Claus will visit the Parowan East and West Wards on Christmas Eve as arranged by the Sun Day School superintendents. East Ward programs begin at 6 40 PM at the Chanel with a brief recitation and a gift. West Ward follows at 7 30 PM in the Reeser Hall with a short entertainment.
