The Ladin Theater plans a 2:30 PM Christmas show for children under 12, featuring a Cowboy Show and four delightful acts. Maureen O'Hara stars in the regular evening performances on Friday and Saturday on 34th Street, with updates that the North wants the release.
The Paragonah couple announces the marriage of their daughter Eva Lou Danver to Walie Fy Lamoreaus son of Mr and Mrs M Lamoreaus. The ceremony December 10 was performed by Bishop Gilbert Tinson in a church with family and a few close friends present. Miss Danver wore a floor length white sheath gown with fitted bodice square neckline puffed sleeves and fingertip veil. Her corsage was red roses. The High Priests party held Friday December 10 in West Ward Recreation drew over half the quorum and partners. A fine program followed by refreshments served by the committee. Silas M. Top led the dance with Enoch Ward’s orchestra.
Alma Lawrence states Parowan Elementary School will stage a Christmas program Friday at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium. Parents and High School members invited. The theme explores the origins of Christmas customs through song, dance, and story with teachers aiding in production and a large sixth grade nativity on stage.
Ardell Hyatt of Long Beach, formerly Parowan, visited briefly en route to Provo to find housing for his family so he can return to Brigham Young University to finish studies. Mrs. Bruce Matheson underwent major surgery at the County Hospital last Saturday and is reported to be doing satisfactorily. The Parowan Lifesiry Club held its annual Christmas Box Party at the home of Mrs. Idaing with games and gift exchanges and dainty refreshments. Herb Herrulet returned to the naval base at Long Beach after a seven day furlough with his Folks.

The figure marks a 3 percent rise from October, while a 27 percent drop in redemptions from 1947 November supports an overall trend toward buying and retaining bonds. Christmas bond folder requests indicate growing use of savings bonds for gifts and more employer bonuses paid in bonds this year.
Mr and Mrs R Wallace Hulet and Family thank friends and relatives for support during the burial of their son. Special appreciation goes to Legion members, the bishopric, those who took part in services, and to all who sent flowers and food and offered comfort in their grief.
A special program to open the Christmas season will be held Sunday at 8 in Glelook Parowan East Ward Chapel. The Cantata The Spirit of Christmas and a pageant depict the Nativity story with a combined choir, Parowan Ward singers, and soloists E Ray By man Karl Chell and Berta Burton. Principal pageant roles include The Family and Sheperds, Angels, Wise Men and Joseph Ward with many supporting cast members. New lighting effects by Lyonard Rowley Merton Mitchell and Helma Orten will enhance the performance. Admission is free and all are invited, with members of other wards urged to attend.
Graveside military services were held for Lt Kulet with a six gun salute and Taps by Clark Mitchell. The ceremony at Cedar City featured an American Legion burial conducted under Commander Whitney Or tum with dignitaries including Bishop Pilger and Lt Harry Halford. Pallbearers were Lt Hulet brothers Rupert Ralph Carlyle J C Herbert Hulet and Thomas Abbott, all in uniform.

Parona High School Girls Chorus presents a two part Christmas program in the high school auditorium on Wednesday evening December 22. The first part features sacred music retelling the story of the bird of charity, the second part offers modern carols and selections. Merrill narrates. senior choir members and 64 voices contribute with the high school band between sections. Chorus director Doris Smith and accompanist Mrs Mortensen lead, with radio airings on KSUB Saturdays at 1:30 PM.
L L Hermansen and son LaVar announce the opening of Parowan Roller Mill. The Parowan Roller Mill Company acquired the mill building and water rights from Parowan City in a previous sale. The city is pursuing hydro electric plans and may supply power to the mill owned by the Hermansens.
The State Fish and Game Department warns hunters that shipping waterfowl is prohibited by state and federal law. Ducks and teese could be shipped only for 48 hours after Utah season closed on December 7. Hunters have until March 7 to remove all 1948 waterfowl. after that it is illegal to possess any waterfowl. The rule aims to prevent over possession and enforce possession limits.
Public library announces new books for holiday hours and invites patrons to visit. Readers are urged to locate and return overdue library books with a one day only December 20 deadline for overdue items to be accepted without charge.
Utah hunters enjoyed their best duck and goose season in years, said Fish and Game Director R L Turpin and Federal Game Agent Floyd Thompson. They attributed the improved hunting to favorable weather and noted mallard activity along the Jordan River on the season's final day.
