Funeral Services for Albert Lamoreaux in Provo
Funeral services were held in Provo for David Albert Bert Lamoreaux a former Paragonah resident who died at his St George home last week of a heart attack. Born Paragonah October 4 1887 he was married twice first to Almera Wilson on September 30 1903 and then to Anita Richardson on December 26 1937. Surviving are eight children thirty eight grandchildren nine great grandchildren seven brothers and sisters.

The Paragonah Livestock Assn re elected Ellis Robinson Asa Topham Orson Talbot Calvin Robinson and Bert Robinson at its annual meeting held Monday December 5 Attendance included Assistant Supervisor Leland Heywood of the US Forest Service and Rangers Grant Williams and Adrian Dalton. The Relief Society Christmas Party is set for Tuesday December 20 with a planned program and gifts for all attendees. The Primary Association hosts a Christmas Eve program Saturday December 24 at 7 30 pm featuring a real Santa Claus inviting all children and parents.

ACP Program Opens for 1956 in Iron County
Iron County farmers were reminded by J Leonard Topham ASC chair that the 1956 ACP program begins January 1 with a February 5 deadline for conservation practices. Sign ups for work through February must occur before Feb 5, with reporting dates set through June 1 for February through May. Subsequent deadlines follow the 5th of each period, ending December 30 for October to December. Farmers should not sign up unless the planned practices will be completed or within 30 days of starting work.

Grimm Receives 20 Year State Prison Sentence
Vernon Grimm of Cedar City was given a sentence of not less than one year nor more than twenty years in the State Prison by Judge Will L. Hoyt during District Court. He faced second degree burglary charges for breaking into Parowan Canyon's old Parowan City Power Plant and stealing copper bars and wiring. Two juveniles were referred to juvenile authorities. related Washington County charges were dropped after his Iron County sentencing.

Carlyle Davis Funeral Held in Cedar City
Funeral services for Myron Carlyle Davis aged 24 were held Saturday morning in Cedar City. Davis died Tuesday evening at Iron County Hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Parowan in 1931, he served in Korea and married Pauline Beckstrom of Panguitch, who died last August. He leaves two daughters, Brenda Kay and Kathy Pauline, his parents Oleen and Rachel Davis, and eight siblings. Burial followed in Panguitch Cemetery.
