Parowan City Adopts Contingent 1945 Budget
Parowan City approved a tentative 1945 budget at a regular council meeting. The plan calls for expenditures of about 28 35 68 dollars, within receipts but higher than last year due to wartime wage increases and power water system costs. A public hearing is set for December 28 to finalize funding, with projects including a skating pond, a community pool, street beautification, park work, and expanded lighting, plus plans to replace transformers for the dairy, court house, and school.

SGT KEITH BETTRIDGE AT BUSHNELL HOSPITAL
Sergeant Keith Bettridge, son of Mr and Mrs George Bettridge of this city, arrived at Bushnell hospital in Brigham City after serving in the South Pacific for almost two years. He suffered a severe back injury at work, was treated overseas, then sent to the United States and landed in San Francisco late last month before being flown to Bushnell. He is to undergo an operation soon to address the trouble, and his parents plan to visit the first of the week, accompanied by their other son Alma of Cedar City.

Auxiliary to Plan Christmas Activities Monday
The Legion Auxiliary will meet December 11 at 8 p.m. at Mrs. Gold Guyman’s home. The program includes GI rights talk by A. M. Marsden, a musical number, and a reading.
