District Court In Ses sion Here This Week

The adjourned term of the District Court opened yesterday and spent most of two days hearing the Mutual Finance & Investment Co versus Louise L. Tucker et al contract case for building a house. A guilty plea from Riste Wilson for forgery was entered with December 12 set for sentencing. Wilson, a juvenile, forged a nine dollar check at Petersen Drug Store in Cedar City.

New Thoroughbred Broccoli Arrives Through Remount Service

A chestnut three year old named Broccoli, son of English champion Epinard, arrived December 1 at Fenton Stables to join breeding aims here. Forest Plantings Show Good Growth Near Panguitch Lake

A wildlife division inspection of 2000 Western Yellow Pine seedlings planted by the Forest Service near Panguitch Lake finds about 70 percent alive with satisfactory growth. Officials plan 4000 more trees nearby next spring and 2000 in Pine Valley, in a reforestation effort on land burned long ago.

Milk Deliveries to Parowan Dairy Wagon Route

Southern Utah Dairy Co patrons in Parowan City must deliver milk to the factory by the company wagon from the 15th of the month. The board of directors decided at a Tuesday night meeting that wagon delivery serves the best interests of patrons and the company, ending private carrier milk moves.

No Cut To Be Made On Reserve This Year

Livestock permittees on the Dixie Forest learn no cuts in permits next year are likely. Inspecting the range shows a thin fall, but permittees cannot sell stock, and moisture this season may improve grazing. Supervisor Gurrhan met with committees and recommends no changes, though a shortened season could occur if range conditions worsen.

Pendleton 85 Veterans Death in Cedar City

Daniel Pendleton, 85 year old veteran of the Black Hawk Indian War and longtime Cedar City resident, died at home after a brief illness. He was born in Norway on September 15, 1346 and came to Utah as a child. Funeral services were held today. Surviving are his widow and several children, plus two half brothers. The community extends sympathy to the family.
