Local couple wed in small Saturday ceremony

Karl Orton and Kathleen Wilock were married Saturday night by County Clerk W Clair Rowe at the courthouse with a few close friends present. Karl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orton and Kathleen is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Wilock. Both are graduates of the local high school. Karl has been employed in Nevada and left for Pioche to continue work, while Mrs. Orton will join him after Christmas.

Farent Teachers Hold Old Time Dance Event

The Parent-Teachers Association plans an old time dance at the local gym next Friday night in November. The first of two entertainments this school year aims to bring in seniors and older community members with a special gravity. Admission is 25 cents for men and 10 cents for ladies.

Deer herd thinning near Parowan after heavy take

Local men under deputy Stags Game Wenlen Qiaude Mac farlane conducted drives in the Parowan foothills southwest of the city. A total of 79 deer were taken, with 24 on Monday, 12 yesterday, and the rest gathered from orchards and fields around town. No drives will occur until a thorough herd survey is completed by Salt Lake City department staff, and officials will remove deer if they come into town to prevent damage.

Miss Skougard daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Skougard of Parowan married Howard Carlyle Dehm of Maywood California in Huntington Park on Tuesday of last week. They spent Thanksgiving with the Urions and returned to Maywood Saturday to make their home.

Velma Bayles Mother Dies in Utah Car Crash

Mrs Valeria Laird Taggart of Lewiston Utah died after a snow slick collision three miles north of Logan between 9 and 10 am. Her daughter Velma Bayles and her husband Wendell Bayles rushed to Lewiston. Deitersather was hospitalized with bruises. The accident involved a Toscant car traveling toward Logan and a car driven by Com Trpraso off Brigham City. wreckage required a state road truck to separate. The couple were en route to the Logan temple at the time.
