Henry M Jones born July 16 1899 in Enoch Iron County Utah died Aug 6 1918 in France while serving with Company C 68th Infantry Fourth Division. A memorial service in the Enoch Tabernacle honored his sacrifice with prayers poems and hymns.

Camp Lewis recruits thirty four county men for service
Yesternay from various towns of the county thirty-four young men left for Camp Lewis to join the U S Army. The Exemption Board selected the list including Ernest Topham Parowan Cedar City and Paragonah residents among others. Bishop Charles E Jones spoke of faith and duty and a closing hymn and benediction ended the service notes.

Marriage in Parabonan Exemplar of Local Kinship
Last Thursday the marriage of Mr John Woods to Maud Davenport was celebrated at the bride’s parents home with many townspeople returning to visit relatives. The event followed by a funeral for Amos Rotington, an early volunteer who died after illness contracted during training. Gash Charge For Threshing Adopted By Parewan Farmers
Parewan farmers and threshermen set cash prices for threshing operations following a meeting on August 24. Wheat 15 cents per bushel, oats 25 cents, barley 15 cents, alfalfa and clover prices to be arranged locally. Cedar Valley farmers had already adopted cash charges to comply with Federal Food Administration rules.

The Gel Club reports progress across three groups the Senior Cooking Club the Senior Beining Club and the Junior Sewing Club through weekly meetings this summer.
