Dairy Co Stockholders Hold Annual Meeting
The Southern Utah Dairy Company stockholders met in the county courthouse to elect a new board. Samuel Abbott was rejected to a two year term, KR L Fenton and J L Adams from Parowan were elected for two and one year terms, replacing John W Bentley and Ross F Taylor. Warren Pendleton fills the unexpired term of John J Pendleton. T A Topham and Pendleton remain holdovers. The year’s report shows strong earnings across departments after expansions including a meat department. Milk intake reached 1,707,384 pounds with 66,939 pounds of butter and 209,107 pounds of cheese produced. cheese sales totalled 49,077.34 wholesale and 22,461.00 retail, with 36,626.22 paid to patrons for milk. Debate arose over Parowan Milling Company consolidation, to be decided by the new board.

Marsden Reunion At Kaibab Lodge Draws Wide Arizona Attendance
The Marsden Tieunion held July 30 31 at Kaibab Lodge near Kanab drew about ninety attendees from Patowan Cedar City Provo Salt Lake and beyond with many from Arizona. Attendees traveled via Main canyon and Kanab route to cut distance and heat. Evening program featured Marsden family leaders and a chorus and reminiscences. Mr and Mrs D P Barton departed Berkeley after a month long western tour including Portland Vancouver San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Gun Shot Fatal To Shirley Holyoak
Shirley Holyoak, 24, was found shot and dead by his father on the family field about 7 am Thursday. The death appears accidental from a .640 Krag rifle discharge while hunting skunks near Mortensen farm, with funeral planned for Saturday at West Ward chapel. He was born November 28, 1913, and survived by his parents Joseph and Hattie Scott Holyoak and four siblings.

District Court Holds One Day Term Here
A short term of the District Court for Liron County was held here on Tuesday with Judge Wil L Hoyt on the bench. Many practicing attorneys attended as a long list of civil cases appeared on the calendar and judgments were rendered in defaults. Some cases were set for trial at the next term, while others were passed for this time. Default judgments were awarded to Clarence E Miller et al against Orson Tait for 794.59 with interest costs and 100 attorney's fees. Oscar Larson was awarded against Arnold Graff for 3608 with costs and attorney's fees. A petition by the Federal Land Bank of Herskley for a receiver was denied. May B Wackham vs Willard Batty was continued until note and mortgage are produced. Garmin Mitchell won against Lamont Higbee for 58.66 with costs and interest.

City Council Holds August Meeting
The City Council met on an August Tuesday with all members present. Actions were limited though a $5000 cash deal for the Bank of Iron County building was noted, a $950 monthly set aside for sinking funds approved, and plans to collect burial fees discussed. The road from Patrowan to Forest was deemed unfunded. water supply taps for a sawmill were requested. landscaping around the electric plant was proposed. no final decisions were made. The meeting adjourned to convene next week to set the tax levy and hear the superintendent’s report.
