Marriage of Patricia Benson Kisich in Las Vegas
Former McGill residents Mr and Mrs Mitchell Benson announce the marriage of their daughter Patricia to Staff Sergeant Mikael Kisich son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Elsich both of McGill Nevada. The ceremony occurred in Las Vegas on July 2. Patricia wore a pale pink gabardine suit with black accessories and a pink rosebud corsage. Her attendant Gwen Benson wore aqua blar. Patricia, a White Pine high school graduate, has worked for Kennecott Copper Co. Kisich, a Colorado State College alumnus, enlisted in 1943 and served with the 8th Air Force in England participating in heavy bombing of Germany. The couple will reside in Las Vegas where Kisich teaches at the Army Air Base.

Funeral Services Held Sat for Phillip Dalley
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Summit ward chapel for J. Phillip Dalley father of Mrs. Garden Bayles of this city. Dalley died at Tron county hospital last Wednesday. The service was led by Bishop Raymond Farrow with President Oscar Hulet and Mrs. Wendell Bayles among the speakers. The grave was dedicated at Summit cemetery. A Parowan mixed quartet sang Jesus Lover of My Soul and Goin Home, with more tunes performed by Mary Topham and June Decker at the piano.

Welfare groups from eight LDS stakes including Beav er St George Zion Park Avada Moapa Kanab Garfield and Parowan gathered at Five Mile Recreation Lamp Parowan canyon to hear Roscoe W Eardley Mrs Eardley and President Bunker of Las Vegas speak at a 2 o clock assembly. Lunch for about one hundred visitors preceded the meeting and attendees left upbeat about the convention and the day’s work across Stake Presidencies Agricultural Committees Bishops Work Leader groups and Relief Societies.

Public Assistance Cases Decrease in June
Iron County in June 1945 saw 234 cases on public assistance totaling 11 314 dollars, Mamie C. Eck reports. Old age aid dominates the payments at 60 percent, with dependent children 10 percent and other programs filling the rest. Old-age totals rose to 496 444 during June as the 1935 amendment raised the minimum need to 40 dollars monthly.

Former Parowan Teacher Dies At County Hospital
George O. Holt of Enterprise, a former Parowan teacher, died at Aton county hospital in Cedar City from pneumonia after long illness. Funeral services planned for Enterprise on Monday or Tuesday. He married Juliette C. Adams. survived by wife, three sons Albert A. Holt Jay O. Holt Hugh E. Holt, two daughters Mrs Paris Robinson and Mrs Georgia Moyle, two grandchildren and armed forces members in service. He was about sixty and valued in community activities.

They married in Detroit after meeting at Langley Field and he earned the Air Medal with cluster and Distinguished Flying Cross with cluster for bombing missions. They plan to stay until August 19 before reporting to Santa Ana California Army Air Base.

A social in the West ward chapel honored Gene Bentley Taylor son of Mr and Mrs Clayton Taylor before his induction into the armed forces next week. West ward bishopric Taylor Miller led the program with Barbara Adams as speaker. Melvin Howley sang solo with Shala Hyatt at the piano, and June and Marian Decker performed a piano duet. Opening prayer by Bishop Day and closing by John W Bentley followed the Legion color ceremony led by Donets Taylor with the pledge of allegiance.

WEEZ'S STORMS BRING 1.43 INCHES OF MOISTURE

Grazing Service Reports Road Building in Virgin District
The U S Grazing Service reports 58 7 miles of roads built in the Virgin District including Iron and Washington counties. A new road south of the New Castle road to Tron Mountain adds 10 miles of heavy construction for mining and diamond drilling prospects. Existing roads from Iron Mountain to New Castle junction may be state routed. Lund to Fife and Fluorspar mines in Pine Valley are graveled and maintained. Four roads to coal mines in Cedar Canyon will begin soon with Iron County cooperation. Washington County gains from 2 miles of North Fork Virgin River road east of Zion Park aiding lumber, ranchers, livestock interests, and the public. The district reports ~2,600 acres reseeded to crested wheatgrass, mainly in Iron County. Construction includes about 27 miles of four-strand barb wire fencing, mostly around Mud Springs and Cedar City areas, to control Cedar City and Parowan cattle. remaining fencing lies in Washington County near Price-Atkinson and the Utah-Arizona line.
