Utah Music Festival Set for May 6 in Beaver
The Southern Utah Music Festival arrives May 6 in Beaver with 18 hundred senior and junior high musicians from Millard Iron Washington Beaver and Kane counties. Sixteen high school bands and 30 mixed choruses and glees will perform under judges from Weber College and Tabernacle Choir. Organizers predict the event will be the best yet with rapid preparations and a parade followed by mass band performance.

Heffernan vice president of Berkeley Bank for Cooperatives visited the County Potato Growers Association with Roe Palmer and E M Cony to review finances and credit options. The group discussed low interest financing from a federal bank to speed seed potato marketing and timely partial payments. Lamont F E Tuckler noted the association’s potential and promised further explanation on financing. The West Ward stake conference in Cedar City prompted cancellation of the Sunday meeting.

Stake Conference Set for Cedar Third Ward This Weekend
The Parowan Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holds its regular quarterly conference in Cedar Third Ward Chapel on Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30. Stake President Palmer says the Third Ward Chapel will be dedicated during the conference and general church authorities will attend. The program opens Saturday at 2 PM with a welfare session, plus a Stake Union meeting and a Priesthood gathering at 8 PM. Sunday features two general sessions at 1 PM and 2 PM, with the latter dedicating the chapel.

Tolman Named Coach At Parowan High School
Jay Tolman the present Delta High School athletic director will coach and oversee Parowan High School next year replacing Orland Ward who is on leave to study East. Tolman will move to Cedar City later to serve as athletic director for the new Cedar City high school after Ward's fall return. Tolman led Delta to a Class B state football title last season and guided a basketball squad to the state tournament. he is a Utah State Agricultural College graduate renowned as an athlete and scholar.

Regional Athletic Meet at St George Smith May Day
The Regional Track Field and Tennis Meet for the section will be held at Dixie College in St George next Friday May 1 announced by Coach Orland Ward at the local high school. The region covers Millard Beaver Tron Washington and Kane Counties. Ward plans to take three Tennis players David Hatch Jack Gurr and either Bruce Decker or Kenneth Lyman and seven in Track and Field Kenyon Robinson Nathan Benson Leonard Orion Merton Mitchell Paul Dalton Jack Halterman and Doyle Clark. Mrs Brandt Dalton and Mrs Audrey James of Long Beach visited here with relatives and friends for several days last week and joined Mrs Helen Mairs when she returned from a Coast trip. They left for Long Beach Tuesday. The Glee Club of thirty voices will perform solo and ensemble numbers with the full chorus directed by Dr. Franklin Madsen on a Southern Utah school tour. Glenn Holyoak was hospitalized with throat infection but is recovering and should be all right in a few days.

County Livestock Men May Earn 330000 in Benefit Payments
Iron County livestock men could earn from twenty one to thirty thousand dollars in benefit payments under the 1939 Range Conservation Program. Mr. John E.
