Seventeen to Graduate From Parowan High School Next Week

Seventeen students will graduate from Parowan High School next Thursday evening. The class includes Neta Thornton Donald Taylor Blanche Decker Frank Adams Melva Barton Lauriel Day Ilene Johnson Zona Pentieton Edgar Lister Ann Taylor Charles Gurton Gertrude Bentley Orland Ward Martha Heap Mabel Adams Austin Adams and Rhoda Topham. The commencement program runs Friday through Thursday with various performances and the Graduation Exercises Friday night featuring a diploma presentation and Benediction.

Work of removing old school house commences

On Monday morning this week the tearing down and removal of the big school house on the corner across from the Court House began. Thomas IL Lawrence of Cedar City is paid $1900 for services and material costs. Bricks priced at $10 per thousand and lumber at $25 are noted. The contract requires removal with material salvaged and stacked properly.

Primary Conference Set for Next Sunday Afternoon

Bishop Marsden announced last Sunday that a conference of the Primary Associations of the Wards will be held next Sunday afternoon in the tabernacle as the regular Sunday program. The program a week later will be led by the Boy Scouts. Officers aim for a very interesting program and good attendance with East Ward speakers Hyrum Tilton Scott Mitchell and William N Lyman and West Ward speakers Thomas T Durham Albert Marsden Claude Adams W T Parkin son. Parowan Girl Weds Beaver County Boy

Miss Gladys Rollins daughter of Mr and Mrs J B Rollins of Parowan became the bride of Mr Joseph W Wood of Beaver County on Monday afternoon. Mr Wood is the son of Heber Wood of Minersville. He lists Beaver as his address and mining as his occupation. Congratulations are extended to the couple for a long and joyful life together.

Mitchell to Return From Extended Mission

Mr Walter GC Mitchell expected home this week after sixty one months on a church mission. He traveled via Los Angeles where his wife met him and they visited daughter Eva and her husband. He briefly stopped in El Paso to see his niece Kara Kathleen Roche and her husband, then visited J Harold Mitchell and family in Arizona.

After a nine week illness, Aunt Sarah Orton died at 10 15 AM Tuesday. Born October 22 1543 in Arnold England she moved to Parowan at 21 and married Alexander Orton a year later.
