About 120 Allas hunter girls met in the Recreation hall of the Purowan West Ward church Saturday April 4th to hold their Junior Festival. They played games for an outing, were served luncheon by the Relief Society, and enjoyed a program with stake ward participants. Millie Evans chaired the festival with Belle Webster Cora Rowley and others as leaders. Next year the festival will be held in Cedar City.

Tryphaena West aged 89 died in her sleep early Friday. Born 1847 in Surrey England she crossed to America with the Saints in 1863 aboard the Amazon then helped settle Utah. She served two terms as county recorder and was active in community affairs. Funeral at East Ward chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. Survivors include daughter Annie and grandson Charles Bentley. Related visits from P A Ballenger and Ray Adams. a baby girl born at the county hospital this week.
