New Date Set for Parowan Music Fete
The annual Region Six high school music festival in Parowan moved to May 8 due to conflicts. Wil ford Young, general chairman, says over a thousand students from Washington Iron Kane Beaver Millard counties and Ely Nevada will perform across venues including the high school gymna s i um auditorium and local churches with noon lunches by advance reservations.

Funeral Services Held For Paragonah Lady Amelia B Tolton
Quiet services were held in Paragonah Chapel for Mrs Amelia B Robinson Tolton with Ward Bishopric directing. Orson Talbot led the service as the choir sang Rest Rest for the Weary Soul and Jesus the Very Thought of You. Mobile X Ray Unit to Visit Iron County Towns
Under the Iron County Tuberculosis Association the State Mobile X-ray unit will visit Parowan and Paragonah on April 21 and 22 to X ray everyone 15 years and older. It will operate at Main and Center streets in Parowan on April 21 from 1 to 6 p.m. and April 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, then move to Paragonah for 2 to 6 p.m. on April 22. Local volunteers will assist. no charge to patrons. The unit will later go to Beryl Crossroads on April 25.

Hay Truck Fire Delights Paragonah Crowd
A hay truck arriving in Paragonah Saturday evening burst into flames near Dick McBrides service station. Fire extinguishers failed, the truck moved toward the irrigation ditch, and the Parowan fire department and volunteers battled the blaze, tossing burning bales to the ground. Names of the truckers were not learned. the crew is believed from Milford, Minersville area.

Dalton Transfers to Dixie Forest as Assistant Ranger
Adrian E Dalton forester with the U S Forest Service will report for duty April 5 at the Dixie National Forest Powell Ranger District Panguitch Utah. He moves from Fishlake National Forest where he has worked since May 1953. Dalton is a Utah State Agricultural College graduate in Range Management and a WWII veteran. He and his wife Susan Halterman, from Parowan, have two children and live in Fillmore until moving to Panguitch after the school year ends.
