He has run a seven year medical practice in Parowan and held several church and civic roles including Seventies Quorum teacher Home Missionary Chairman Cedar City Rotary Society Parowan Chamber of Commerce president and Sons of Utah Pioneers vice president. Mrs Sorenson has served on the Stake Relief Society Board and as a visiting teacher.

City Council Holds Last Meeting On Routine Business
City council discussed water issues in culinary and irrigation systems. Six mile spring improvements to finish backfilling and hillside drainage were authorized. BYU Acapella Choir to Perform in Cedar City
A BYU acapella choir concert is set for April 20 at the College of Southern Utah Auditorium to raise funds for the Cedar Stake Seminary building. Stewart Adams son of Mr and Mrs Harry Adams recently completed tests entitling him to the State Young Farmer Degree for outstanding work in FFA Chapters in high schools. Adams is a Parowan High School senior, FFA Chapter president, active in athletics and student government. Attendees at the FFA Convention included Maxine Joseph FFA Sweetheart and her mother Thales Brown Alen Stubbs and Jimmy Robinson.

Last Rites for Parowan Civic Leader John Bentley
Funeral services were held for John W. Bentley 75 Parowan civic and church leader who died March 28. Interment was in Parowan City Cemetery. Bentley served as Iron County Clerk mayor of Parowan and as Justice of the Peace. survivors include his widow May, son Shelby and four daughters. Honorary guards from Utah Highway Patrol attended.

Donald Halterman, son of Mr and Mrs Marion Halterman, a Parowan High student, is chosen to represent the school at the Annual Youth Conference in Salt Lake City sponsored by the Salt Lake Rotary Club.
