Forest Aid Sought for Canyon Road by Chamber

The Chamber of Commerce plans to press the Forest Service for funds to improve Canyon Road. President Mitchell and Supervisor Mace will travel to Cedar City to discuss the request, with an Ogden Office appeal if needed to ease access to the Breaks and complete the loop.

Timber Cutting for Cedar Breaks Tourist Camp

Eight men led by Mr. Nephi Orton travel from town to the Mammoth head to cut timber before sap runs for a tourist camp at Cedar Breaks. They leave in a wagon up to a canyon with dog sleds for provisions, aiming to reach near South House flat in four to five days. They will be paid five dollars per day due to exposure and difficult winter travel over three to ten feet of snow.

County Commissioners Postpone April Meeting

County Clerk John W. Bentley announces the April meeting of the County Commissioners is postponed from April 9 to April 16 to allow attendance at the April Conference and Road convention in Provo. Tragic Death of Mrs Natine Genson Decker at Twenty Five

Mrs Natine Genson Decker wife of Alvin Decker of this City died Friday after a weeks long battle with heart trouble. A native of the area she leaves a husband two young sons three brothers and three sisters and her foster parents. Funeral services were held at the Tabernacle on Sunday at two oclock with Bishop H L Adams presiding. L N Marsden S A Matheson F C Van Buren and David Matheson spoke and The Primary Association offered a resolution of sympathy. Musical tributes included Nearer My God To Thee and I Cling To Thee performed by local singers.

Change Route of Lincoln Highway Would Boost Utah Tourism

Mr F D B Gay toured Parowan in support of a Provo convention seeking a southern Utah route for the Lincoln Highway. He argues that diverting from Salt Lake City to Milford Baker Ely would add 60 miles but reduce travel time and showcase southern Utah’s scenery, improving impressions of the state. Miss Laurel Decker hosted last evening for Mr. Marion Adams bound for California to complete his mission. A large group of youths enjoyed games music and humorous stories followed by refreshments as the evening’s fitting climax.

As we go to press Mr. Jos Ei Ward of the Fair Committee says the list of fall fair committees and the premium list for agricultural products will appear in the TIMES next issue. The committee promises new premiums focusing on best garden and farm crops displays rather than individual entries.

Delegates to Provo convention represent Parowan

Through the Chamber of Commerce and city officials Parowan will send a strong delegation to the Provo convention on the 10th inst addressing the Lincoln Highway. Thomas D. Adams will return to represent the city along with L Nelson Marsden and Commissioner H L Adams, with possibility of others from the chamber joining.

Durham's Work Praised For Glee Club Development

A clipping from the Gold and Blue praises Brothers Durham for guiding the L. D. S. U. Boy's Glee Club from fifty untrained male voices to a chorus worthy of the name.
